Politte K's 10 En Route to 5-1 Yankees Win
Cliff Politte never let the Angels get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Yankees to a win, 5-1. The Yankees, at 69-42, sit in first place in the AL East Division.

Politte kept the Angels under his thumb. He scattered 1 hit over 7 innings, while striking out 10. The right-hander upped his season record to 9-6.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Politte said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
