Mariners Suffer 7-6 Loss to Angels
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Carl Everett, the Seattle Mariners lost to the Los Angeles Angels, 7-6. Everett was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Jonathan Papelbon, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. Los Angeles is now 15-22.
Octavio Leyva hit a 2-run double off Randy Choate in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Angels in front, 6-4. In addition to the double, Leyva had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
