Royals Lose Versus Baltimore, 6-4
|
The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Kansas City Royals, 6-4, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Baltimore was led by 22-year old center fielder Chris B. Young, who went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Orioles raised their record to 20-17.
Young contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Baltimore in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Young took a fastball from Tim Bruce and stroked the home run to right-center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Orioles to leap in front, 5-2.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Young.
