Brewers Take Down Mets, 6-5
|
Miller Park played host to some exciting baseball.
The Milwaukee Brewers used the hitting of third baseman Joe DePastino to subdue the New York Mets, 6-5. For the game, DePastino was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Steve Fischer picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Robinson Tejeda suffered the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With no one out, DePastino hit a fastball from Robinson Tejeda for a solo home run. The Brewers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
In postgame remarks, DePastino simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
So far, the 2003 season has been disappointing for New York, now 11-20.
