Rangers Stick Guardians with 8-3 Loss
|
The Texas Rangers powered past the Cleveland Guardians, 8-3, at Jacobs Field. Chris Woodward was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Texas pitcher Glendon Rusch got the win. He's now 3-1. Sergio Atondo was tagged with the loss. Cleveland is 16-14 after the defeat.
Texas used a clutch at-bat from Mark Kotsay to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Kotsay told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
