4-2 Orioles Win over Tigers Evens Season Record
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a stellar performance from pitcher Bud Smith, who handcuffed the Detroit offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Comerica Park. With the loss, Detroit sinks to 12-15.
Felix Escalona had a direct impact on the outcome. Escalona contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Baltimore up, 3-1.
Detroit manager Brian Boyd said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
