Nixon Whitewashes Giants
It wasn't easy but the Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs made it look that way.

Starter Ken Nixon shut out the Amarillo Giants despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs cruised to victory, 3-0. Nixon allowed only 4 hits and rang up 3 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
