Kanei Impresses as Braves Knock Off Diamondbacks, 2-1
|
Taketo Kanei was outstanding against Arizona. The left-hander, who led the NL in wins with 21 last year, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Braves 2-1 win. Getting the save was Brad Clontz, his 8th. With the loss, Arizona drops to 10-11.
Kanei subdued the Arizona offense. The Atlanta left-hander allowed a mere 3 hits over 8 innings, while fanning 9. His season record goes to 2-0 with the win.
"From pitch one to the last pitch, Taketo was aggressive," said Atlanta manager Steve Haugh.
