Slayback Holds Blues Scoreless
|
Bill Slayback was in a zone of his own most of the day, shutting out the Memphis Blues on 4 hits.
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled Memphis manager after the 1-0 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox.
Slayback finished with 10 strikeouts and 4 walks in a strong outing.
In the postgame press conference, Pawtucket manager said Slayback "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off."
So far this season Slayback has a 5-1 record, 6 starts, 54 innings, 49 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA.
