Reds Hang 6-3 Loss on Mets
|
The Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets, 6-3, at Riverfront Stadium. Keith Williams, in particular, was impressive. He was 4-4 with 4 singles. Lee Plemel went 7.2 innings for Cincinnati to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record improves to 6-11. With the win, Cincinnati raised its record to 59-47.
Cliff Floyd dealt the Mets a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Cincinnati leading 1-0, Floyd, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a first pitch slider for a 2-run single.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Floyd.
