Angels, Isringhausen Deal Devil Rays 2-0 Setback
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Anaheim Angels and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, pitcher Jason Isringhausen was the difference between victory and defeat. The Anaheim right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Angels win. Dave Righetti earned the save for Anaheim, his 22nd of the year. The Angels move to 44-51 with the win, while the Devil Rays drop to 30-65.
Isringhausen picked up the win. He's now 7-7, after putting the Tampa Bay offense in the deep freeze. Over 8 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 1 hit.
"Jason showed what he's made of," said Anaheim manager Jeff Williams.
