No one was more impactful than Keith Williams in the 8-6 Cincinnati win over St. Louis. Williams, who finished 3rd in the NL in runs with 129 last year, was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Kyle Farnsworth picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Randy Wolf, who is tied for 8th in the NL in wins with 9, was tagged with the loss. The save went to Mike Trapp, number 1 for him.

Jason Hardtke hit a 2-run home run off Randy Wolf in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Reds ahead, 7-6. In addition to the homer, Hardtke had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Cincinnati manager Kyle Burns.

The last-place Reds bumped their record to 33-54.
