Flores Now 11-3 After Beating Athletics
|
Oakland had no answer for Seattle Mariners starter Randy Flores, who flummoxed Athletics hitters as the Mariners cruised to victory, 6-1. Seattle is 46-24 and Oakland, with the loss, 35-35.
Flores was effective for Seattle, seldom allowing the Athletics to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 93 pitches over 7 innings. He limited Oakland to just 1 run on 3 hits.
"Randy was really on it," said Seattle manager Austin Miller. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
