Rangers Suffer 6-3 Home Defeat
|
Thanks in large part to catcher Armando Rodriguez, the Anaheim Angels beat the Texas Rangers, 6-3. Rodriguez went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. The winning pitcher was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jason Isringhausen. He tossed 82 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. J.J. Putz notched his 13th save of the season.
Ed Sprague had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the seventh for Anaheim. With the bases loaded and the Angels leading 4-3, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Anaheim manager Jeff Williams.
The Angels go to 25-43, putting them last in the AL West Division.
