Ceron Schools Arizona in 2-0 San Francisco Triumph
|
Edgar Ceron, who is tied for 7th in the NL in innings pitched with 73.0, was terrific for the San Francisco Giants in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Arizona Diamondbacks. His performance earned Ceron rave reviews. Norm Kenny, credited with the save, is now 10 for 13 in save opportunities. The Giants, at 22-38, sit in 4th place in the National League West Division.
Ceron was in the zone all game. He frustrated Arizona hitters while giving the Giants 7 innings of quality work. Ceron threw 83 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 7 punchouts.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Ceron.
