Rockies Edge Giants, 2-1
|
The Colorado Rockies banked on Joe Newsome and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the San Francisco hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Rockies. The winner in relief was Joe Voshall. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-2. The Rockies sit in second place in the National League West Division with a record of 23-21.
With the bases empty and no one out in the top of the seventh inning, right fielder Sean Seymour delivered big for the Rockies. Colorado was trailing 1-0 when he belted a solo home run.
"Tough loss," said San Francisco manager Chris Giants GM. "Tough one to swallow."
