Red Sox Rally Late to Nip White Sox
|
Red Sox fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Boston Red Sox outlasted the Chicago White Sox, 6-5, in 10 innings. Heinie Groh provided some punch at the plate for Boston. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 4 runs. The defeat makes Chicago 14-17.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Boston first baseman Ryan Noda, facing Mike Parrott, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Red Sox the 6-5 win.
"The house was rockin'," said Noda.
