Ortega Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Sunday, July 16th , 2028 New York A (DSL) Yankees 1 first baseman Luis Ortega finally met his Waterloo. A 20-game hitting spree is now history after Ortega was unable to make anything happen in 4 at-bats today against the Baltimore (DSL) Orioles Black. Fortunately for Ortega and the Yankees 1, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 8-5. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 20 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." So far this year Ortega has hit .360 with 4 home runs, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored. |
