League Issues 2-Game Suspensions for Brawl
Monday, July 3rd , 2028
You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at New York Yankees Complex. A free-for-all broke out when Juan Rivera of New York A (DSL) and Jesus Esparza of Pittsburgh (DSL) rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game.
Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 2 games.
Rivera is presently hitting at a .250 pace with no home runs, 4 RBIs and has scored 6 times.
This season Esparza has made 9 relief appearances with 1 save. His won-lost record is 0-1 with a 5.52 ERA.
