Rays 1 End Urbina Streak Thursday, August 5th , 2032 The Tampa Bay (DSL) Rays 1 got more than the 18-10 victory at Tampa Bay Rays Complex -- they also put an end to the 23-game hitting streak of St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals catcher Humberto Urbina by holding him without a hit in 1 at-bat. After the game, Urbina seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This season, Urbina is batting .487 with 38 hits, 3 home runs, 22 RBIs, 21 walks, .602 OBP and has scored 25 runs. He has played in 20 games. |
