Toscano Hits in 39 Straight Games Thursday, August 5th , 2032 The Toronto (DSL) Blue Jays fell to the Seattle (DSL) Mariners in Baseball City Complex, even as 19-year-old shortstop Nelson Toscano upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 39 games. Toscano finished with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Blue Jays from dropping the 14-9 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Toscano. Nelson Toscano hit an RBI double in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. In 29 games this season, Toscano has batted at a .418 pace with 56 hits and 6 home runs. |
