5-for-6 Day for Armenta Wednesday, August 13th , 2031 Houston (DSL) first baseman Mauricio Armenta went down swinging at Houston Astros Blue Complex, knocking out 5 hits even as his Astros Orange fell, 18-13. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Armenta said after his 5-for-6 performance against the St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals. "No offense meant to St. Louis (DSL), but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the first baseman's improvements, saying Armenta spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Armenta agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Mauricio Armenta singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
