Tuesday, August 5th , 2031
The red-hot Manny Corpas Jr. is riding high with a 50-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 22-year-old shortstop continued the streak at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex with 2 hits in 5 at-bats as the Houston (DSL) Astros Blue got the best of the Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates Black, 9-8.
"It's great," Houston (DSL) manager Sonder Encarnacion said. "The guys are having fun hitting in front of him and behind him, the fans are having fun watching him. It's been fun and exciting. Not only here, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." Manny Corpas Jr. grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
