Corpas Jr. Extends Hit Streak to 49 Games

Chalk up another one for Houston (DSL) Astros Blue shortstop Manny Corpas Jr.. He now has hit in 49 straight games. Corpas Jr. went 3-for-5 in today's game at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex but saw his club defeated, 10-7, by the host Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates Black.
"Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Astros Blue manager Sonder Encarnacion said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Manny Corpas Jr. hit an RBI double in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
So far this season, Corpas Jr. has 7 home runs and a .539 batting average.
