Hit Streak Now at 47 for Miranda Sunday, August 3rd , 2031 The number just keeps getting higher. Houston (DSL) shortstop Jesus Miranda has now extended his hitting string to 47 games. He did it today with 3 hits in 4 at-bats as the Houston (DSL) won the game, 13-7, over the Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates Black at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Pittsburgh (DSL) manager Jose Mendez said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Jesus Miranda hit a sac fly in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. Thus far this season in 34 games, Miranda is batting .527 with 5 home runs, 64 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has 79 hits in 150 at-bats. |
