Morales Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 21 Thursday, July 31st , 2031 The Pirates Black stopped Juan Morales's 21-game hitting streak at Miami Marlins Complex, but they couldn't stop the Miami (DSL) Marlins, falling by the score of 7-5. Morales didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-3. "It's just as well," Marlins manager William Alvino said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him." This season, Morales is swinging the bat at a .400 rate with 40 hits in 100 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 27 runs and driven in 23. |
