League Suspends Cepeda and Bernini for Fisticuffs Wednesday, July 11th , 2029 If there wasn't a history between Julio Cepeda of New York N (DSL) and Juan Bernini of Houston (DSL), then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Cepeda said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Cepeda is hitting .280 so far this season with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 7 hits including 1 home run, 3 walks and .419 OBP. Bernini has made 6 starts so far this year and put up a 3-2 won-lost record with a 5.17 ERA. In 31.1 innings he has allowed 23 hits, walked 21 and struck out 15. |
