Vela Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, July 5th , 2029 Edgar Vela ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Philadelphia Phillies Academy, when he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies Red dropped the game, 10-7, to the Texas (DSL) Rangers Blue. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Vela said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Edgar Vela singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th. |
