For the day, the Atlanta (DSL) second baseman went 5-for-6 against Kansas City (DSL) with 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Braves to the 31-4 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Daniel Benavides walked in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Andres Alarcon in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jesus Urquieta in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off David Anaya in the 5th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. So far this season, Benavides is hitting .436 with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 34 hits in 78 at-bats and a .595 OBP. |
