Wednesday, July 23rd , 2031
The red-hot Juan Maldonado is riding high with a 43-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 23-year-old first baseman continued the streak at Felipe Rojas Alou Complex with 2 hits in 4 at-bats as the San Francisco (DSL) Giants Orange got the best of the Boston (DSL) Red Sox Blue, 28-10.
"It's great," San Francisco (DSL) manager Chris Cates said. "The guys are having fun hitting in front of him and behind him, the fans are having fun watching him. It's been fun and exciting. Not only here, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." Juan Maldonado hit an RBI double in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Sergio Chica in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
