Hit Streak Now at 42 for Maldonado Tuesday, July 22nd , 2031 Juan Maldonado, first baseman for the San Francisco (DSL) Giants Orange, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 42 games with 2 hits in his club's 13-2 victory over the Boston (DSL) Red Sox Blue at Felipe Rojas Alou Complex. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Juan Maldonado walked in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Sergio Chica in the 8th. Maldonado has collected 106 hits for the Giants Orange this year, 19 of them home runs. He has also netted 116 RBIs and scored 115 runs while batting .567. |
