Athletics End Spar Streak Sunday, August 3rd , 2031 It was the best of both worlds for the Oakland (ACL) Athletics at Sloan Park, as they defeated the Chicago N (ACL) Cubs, 12-9, and also snapped Greg Spar's 21-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old Chicago N (ACL) center fielder failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Spar, we just wanted to win the game," said Athletics skipper Cole Sturgeon. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Spar frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Spar is currently hitting .340 with 6 home runsand 39 RBIs, while scoring 33 runs. |
