Hillcats Chill Grimaldo Hot Streak
Friday, September 3rd , 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the Lynchburg Hillcats at Bank of the James Stadium, as they defeated the Carolina Mudcats, 4-0, and also snapped Rogelio Grimaldo's 20-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Carolina center fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Grimaldo, we just wanted to win the game," said Hillcats skipper Carlos Fermin. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Grimaldo frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
Thus far this year, Grimaldo has hit .280 with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs.
