Bates Brilliant, Blanks Canadians Thursday, August 12th , 2032 It wasn't easy but the Everett AquaSox made it look that way. Starter Jared Bates shut out the Vancouver Canadians despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Everett AquaSox cruised to victory, 6-0. Bates allowed only 3 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This year, Bates has gone 7-7 with an ERA of 3.91 and has 93 strikeouts in 133.2 innings. View Boxscore |
