Quinn Sends Tri-City Bats to Deep Freeze
Wednesday, August 11th , 2032
The Eugene Emeralds shut out the Tri-City Dust Devils, 3-0, behind the strong pitching of Bobby Quinn. Quinn surrendered only 2 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 11.
Following the last out, Quinn appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Tri-City manager Hector Luna, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Quinn's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Dust Devils skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Emeralds press conference, Quinn confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Quinn said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Eugene manager Eddy Ramos added.
This season, Quinn has registered 11 wins and 6 losses in 21 starts with a 2.93 ERA.
