Ramirez Hurls Chihuahuas to Shutout Victory Thursday, July 15th , 2032 Luis Ramirez shut out the Sacramento River Cats, 2-0, on a 3-hit masterpiece for the El Paso Chihuahuas at Southwest University park. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," El Paso skipper Miguel Tejada said afterward. Ramirez registered 7 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Sacramento manager Hector Ambriz after the defeat. So far this season, Ramirez has 10 wins and 5 losses and a 2.54 ERA.
