Pardo Hit Streak Over Tuesday, September 6th , 2033 Jorge Pardo's 21-game hitting streak was snapped at Cheney Stadium. The 22-year-old Salt Lake Bees second baseman failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats in the game against the Tacoma Rainiers, but Salt Lake came out the winner, 4-3. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Jorge," Bees manager Oswaldo Mairena said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." Pardo is batting at a .274 pace this season, picking up 105 hits in 383 at-bats with 8 home runs, 33 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |
