Razor-Sharp Mendoza Blanks Minnesota (DSL) Friday, July 14th , 2028 Oscar Mendoza was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals Red hurler tossed a 2-hit, complete game shutout against the Minnesota (DSL) Twins. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Mendoza. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Mendoza walked 1 and struck out 10 in the 4-0 victory. So far this year Mendoza has compiled a 4-0 record with a 2.52 ERA. View Boxscore |
