"Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Giants 1 off balance and guessing the whole game." The 22-year-old starter rung up 11 strikeouts and 4 walks in whipping the Giants 1.
