GCL Hands Out Reliever of the Year Monday, October 4th , 2027 Jeff Melchior said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 23 years old. But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Philadelphia E (GCL) Phillies East rising star has won the Gulf Coast Rookie League Reliever of the Year for 2027. He captured the award on the strength of his 2.20 ERA over 49 innings. He also had 3 saves in 15 relief appearances, 71 strikeouts and only 13 walks. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 18.
