5-for-5 Day for Roller Thursday, August 26th , 2027 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Ricky Roller of the Chicago A (AZL) White Sox had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 20-7 win over the Chicago N (AZL) Cubs Red at Sloan Park. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 23-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Ricky Roller singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Jeremy Van Landingham in the 7th, was hit by a pitch in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Eric Eubanks in the 9th. For the season Roller has produced 60 hits in 155 at-bats for a .387 average with 14 home runs and gotten on base at a .528 clip. View Boxscore |
