He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Jon Harten performed like a veteran on the hill for the Danville Braves and walked away with the Appalachian League Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.

The 24-year-old Braves star fashioned a 6-2 won-loss record in 2028 with a 2.16 ERA. In 79.1 innings of work and 14 starts, Harten struck out 91 while giving up 53 hits and 30 walks. He held opposing batters to a .190 average.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ken Blakely of the Pulaski Yankees finished second in voting, while Jeff Neu of the Burlington Royals finished third.
