Rangers Advance to Round 2
|
The Texas (ACL) Rangers took time to celebrate with the Texas (ACL) fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Round 1 triumph over the Cleveland (ACL) Guardians.
Members of the Rangers hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Texas (ACL) fans in attendance at Surprise Stadium, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 10-3 win to seal the series 4-2.
"We've got great fan support," said center fielder Balázs Murrell. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Cleveland (ACL) fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."
For the series, Murrell hit .308 with a .379 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
Things weren't so cordial on the Guardians side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.
The Texas (ACL) Rangers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Chicago A (ACL) White Sox - San Francisco (ACL) Giants Black series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
