Mendoza on Fire: 5-for-9 for Binghamton
|
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Alejandro Mendoza. Mendoza went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Erie pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at NYSEG Stadium, he had a 5-for-9 line and a day he will long remember. And the Binghamton Rumble Ponies had a win, 2-1, over the SeaWolves.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
Alejandro Mendoza hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 11th, flied out in the 13th, walked in the 16th, grounded out in the 18th, grounded out in the 20th and hit an RBI single in the 21st.
