Reno Shuts Out Space Cowboys, Malveaux Winner
|
Fans at Greater Nevada Field witnessed the Reno Aces blank the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, 1-0, on the strength of a superb effort from starter Omarion Malveaux. The Reno right-hander allowed 6 hits in recording the shutout.
"Omarion was good today, but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Reno manager Darwin Barney said. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
On the season, Malveaux has compiled a 3-5 mark with a 2.56 ERA in 9 starts. In pitching 59.2 innings he has 48 strikeouts and 16 walks while limiting the opposition to a .237 batting average.
