San Francisco Tops San Diego Again, 5-3
|
The San Francisco Giants got a strong performance from pitcher Sid Roller, who stymied the visiting San Diego Padres en route to a win, 5-3, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The Padres could never get a bead on the right-handed Roller, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The Giants now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Joey Bart, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the San Francisco cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We're one game closer to our goal," San Francisco manager Andy McTigue said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 17th , 2028 at Petco Park in San Diego.
