Royals Rally Past Blue Jays to Claim 2-1 Series Lead
|
The Kansas City Royals nearly wasted a strong game from starter Jared Rosier, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 9th inning walk-off win over the Toronto Blue Jays today.
Rosier pitched well in the 5-4 win at Kauffman Stadium. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The win allowed Kansas City to seize a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Judson Fabian was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Royals designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Fabian. "And not try to do too much."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
