Quad Cities Defeats Lake County
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits were good enough to get past the Lake County Captains at Classic Park today and secure the 1st championship in franchise history.
"When you wear River Bandits on your shirt, you're good at something," Quad Cities skipper Drew Benes told the press.
River Bandits third baseman Marc Bonneau was named MVP of the series after he went .400 with 1 home run and 1 run batted in.
"It feels totally incredible," Bonneau said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."
The new champions capped off a great season with a 3-0 victory over the Captains to win the Round 2 3-2.
