Grand Rapids HS Defeats Hammond HS Wednesday, May 13th , 2026 The Grand Rapids HS Nationals were good enough to get past the Hammond HS Crosscutters at Crosscutters Ballpark today and secure the 1st championship in franchise history. "When you wear Nationals on your shirt, you're good at something," Grand Rapids HS skipper Danny Shew told the press. Nationals right fielder Ricardo Rivos was named MVP of the series after he went .381 with 2 home runs and 4 runs batted in. "It feels totally incredible," Rivos said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment." The new champions capped off a great season with a 4-3 victory over the Crosscutters to win the Round 2 4-2. |
