League Punishes Pair for Fighting Sunday, May 3rd , 2026 If there wasn't a history between Jared Pierse of South Kansas State Univ and Cooper Richards of Key West State, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Pierse said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." For the season, Pierse has produced 13 hits in 40 at-bats for a .325 average with 1 home run and gotten on base at a .372 clip. This year, Richards has gone 3-4 with an ERA of 4.26 and has 67 strikeouts in 57 innings. |
